Multi-level Creator

This tool is in Beta, and might misbehave! Please tell us if you find any issues with it.

Read me completely and in full!

Message Keegan (Weaver) on Discord now and tell him you’re using this tool, so he can set up Categories for your creation.

We need to know:

The primary name – like the name of the empire/group/location

And whether or not you want to be able to add the following creations:

  • Stories and Lore
  • Heroes
  • Denizens (and which Realm they primarily live in)
  • Groups and Armies (and which Realm they primarily come from)
  • Locations (and which Realm they’re in)
  • Quests (and which Realm they’re in)
  • Creatures and Monsters

Things to remember:

Remember that this process is not completely automated, we still need to help you build the specific page that you want. Specifically, we need to set up the needed catagories for your other creations (that will populate this page). And then we again will need to do work on our end after you’ve clicked the Submit button for the first time. After submitting for the first time, the page will not display your creations, you’ll need to tell Keegan that you’ve clicked the Submit button (and you’ll most likely need to change some of your creations’ categories by using the Creation Manager).

Once we’ve created your custom catagories, and also done a little work on our end after you’ve clicked Submit for the first time, you’ll be able to come here and change things just like the other Creator Tools. 

Please read through all the instructions and help in full, it will solve a lot of the problems you’ll encounter, but don’t hesitate in asking Keegan on Discord for help if needed.

Also, be sure to know that these things will not be accepted into The Great Weave:

  • Storylines that directly contradict the overall AoS Narrative (like killing Nagash, or eliminating Chaos from the Realms)
  • Racist or sexist material (with some basic, obvious, exceptions to do with standard speciesism like Duardin not being fans of Aelves)
  • Explicit/capricious/extreme/sexual violence to minors (Allowed: “Enemy ‘A’ killed Hero’s child.” Not Allowed: Explaining in detail how that was done and all the horrible things that were done to that child)

Please be aware, that although you could infringe (in a number of ways) on other Heroes in the Weave, we ask that you contact the relevant writer/creator on Discord before doing so. It’s the right thing to do. By default, all heroes are safe from killing unless permission is given

Please note that the tool isn’t perfect, and will occasionally error out.

  • Multi-level Creation Overview

    Below you'll find at the top of your page, don't go nuts here, details can be added further down
  • This is often the name of the Empire, or Location
  • This is the large image behind the header
  • Keep this relatively short, you'll have space to expound further down
  • Okay, here you can tell others what's what in full, often this goes quite long, so there are two columns available.

  • Creator Notes

    Adding this will create a small block of text where you can describe whatever you'd like to those that are viewing the page. This is usually a way to convey something out-of-character, or maybe even give some greater context outside the Mortal Realms world.

  • Stories and Lore

    If you're writing stories for the exploits that occur on behalf of your empire, or within your location, this section sets that part up on the page. We will create custom categories for you, so when you write your stories, you'll give them that category, and it'll show up below this section.
  • Select Image
  • Only include this if you really really need to.

  • Historical Timeline

    Remember, not all parts of this Creator tool will be relevant to you. Many people would like to have a simple timeline for their creation. This is the section that will fill that out. We do not recommend having really large lore sections here, instead, use the buttons to link to Stories you've made.

  • Dramatis Personae

    Dramatis Personae is a way of introducing your players to the "main characters" within your creation. Some will title this section Dramatis Personae, while others might stick with "Main Characters" or "Warlords" or something else. The actual content is displayed once you've created the actual Characters using the other Creator on The Great Weave, they will appear on the page when they have the correct Category which will probably be something like "[Creation Name] Dramatis Personae" or "[Creation Name] Heroes"
  • This section is usually self-explanatory, but if you want to give more info to your players, do that here

  • Groups, Armies, Creatures, and Individuals

    This is similar to the Dramatis Personae section, but instead of focusing on your heroes, this focused on the various groups, armies, warbands - as well as other important individuals, that are within your Creation. Many people will use this to host their sub-groups, like maybe a political body, or a niche group working in the fringes of an empire.
  • This section is usually self-explanatory, but if you want to give more info to others, do that here

  • Settings

    It is possible you have multiple sub-locations for your creation. This works very much like the Groups and Dramatis Personae sections
  • This section is usually self-explanatory, but if you want to give more info to others, do that here

  • Highlights

    It is possible you have multiple sub-locations, groups, or characters, that you'd like to Highlight within your creation. Here, we offer three "highlighted" areas. These could be anything you want, though people usually use it to create the larger locations, things like States or cities or really important groups. That said, it really can be anything.

  • Quests

    Quests is a toolset here in The Great Weave that allow people (usually) event organisers to create specific missions or tasks for their players to accomplish. Players then attempt to "resolve" the Quest by commenting on the page. This is the most common way for you to accept "Submissions" for the event, or tie in-game mechanics like those found in Path to Glory, or Warcry. Be sure to familiarise yourself with Quests, they will be very useful to you!

  • Additions we add manually

    Choose which ones you want to see. Remember, this won't necessarily add the section automatically, it just helps us get everything sorted. You'll need to specifically DM Keegan to get these things added where you want them.

After clicking the above “Submit” or “Save Draft” button for the first time, please contact Keegan on Discord to finalise your page.
