There is a place in the Bone Desert called Kharazum, a gigantic empire that once was prosperous and respected by all the neighboring nations and people of the Bone Desert. Now, the lands that belonged to the empire are known to be nothing more than a death sentence to those who go into it. The reason? Camazotz of the Thousand Beasts.
Born into nobility, but with a deadly debilitating disease and deformities, Camazotz was the scorn of his people. The shame of nobility. The rejection and hate from the others in the court of the Pharaoh made Camazotz a bitter and spitefull man, filled with hate in his heart. To try to keep up with his more sucessfull sister and try to get a hold into the Throne, Camazotz started learning magic, becoming a master at the lores of shadows, death and beasts.
Even tho he managed the great feat of mastering 3 different lores of magic, he found no appreciation from his family and his sister still was chosen to be Queen of the capital and future Pharaoh. This brought Camazotz great anger and made him leave the city, in search of contemplation and meditation, trying to find out his place in the world. He fought various different beasts among the desert, among the beasts he slayed was a Terrorgheist.
The Terrorgheist was the favored pet of a Ghoul King called Cizil. Impressed but angered at the young wizard, Cizil ordered Camazotz to be brought to him. Camazotz was given two options: either serve King Cizil or die. Camazotz chose servitude, and for that, he received a Blood Kiss.
Becoming an Abhorrant Regent, Camazotz was not horrified by his new looks, in fact, he embraced them. His bones that once felt like they were made of glass were now solid as steel. His finger once too weak to hold a sword now had the strenght to break necks and tear flesh. The weakness of royalty was replaced by the strength of the beast. He served Cizil for about 15 years, always studying ways to better empower his magic and the extent of the powers of his beastial form in secret, always ploting ways to invert the power balance between him and Cizil. Eventually, he formed a plan. Camazotz found a Dragon and suggested to Cizil that it was time to make a replacement for his beloved pet. Cizil agreed and gave Camazotz the task to slay the beast, sending with him some of his strongest Crypt Flayers and Crypt Infernals. Together, Camazotz and the warriors slayed the beast. But instead of raising the dragon as he promissed to his king, Camazotz slayed his wounded companions and gourged the great creature’s flesh. After eating the dragon, his hunger instead of being satiated expanded. His next meal were the dead bodies of his ex-companions.
Camazotz grew into a enormous size after finishing his food. His strength have never been bigger. He came back to his king, only to find out that he was not surprised about his betrayal. In fact, he was proud. Cizil said that it was his objective all along to make Camazotz reach his true potential. To become an Archregent. To become Ushoran’s heir. Cizil swore loyalty to his favored apprentice, much for the delight of Camazotz.
Camazotz than used his new found power to make a new spell. A spell that would give him command over the beasts of Ghur. With the command of the beasts of Ghur, both living and undead, Camazotz and his Ghoul legion invaded Kharazum, manipulating the oppressed, miserable and corrupt of the empire to go agaisn’t the Royal family. A big part of the oppressed decided to oppose the Archregent but failed. These people would escape and later become a nomadic people know as “The Trineians”.
Camazotz conquered his homeland. He transformed those of his family that surrendered into Ghasts and those who refused to surrender, and his hated sister and parents who received no option, he slayed and devoured in a great feast. The entirety of Kharazum would than be rebuilt to be rid of the weakness of royalty and be replaced with the strength of the beast. The gold ornaments of the buildings were replaced with bone. The fine purple fabrics that decorated the cities markets and curtains were replaced with flayed skin from both people and animals. The people turned into Ghouls who were then turned into beasts by the feral roar of Camazotz who would replace all the delusion and madness regular to Ghouls with bestial fury and feral frenzies. Kharazum became an empire of beasts and feral savages, with Ogors and Beastmen uniting under the banner of the Emperor Of The Thousand Beasts due to admiration of the savagery of the feral emperor.
The kings of the cities were replaced with rulers chosen personally by Camazotz. These rulers became known as the 12 Feral Overlords. The royal wizards with Mortisans of the Ossiarch Bonereapers, Beast Shamans and Priests of the Everwinter. Cizil became his right-hand man and advisor. Yet, Camazotz ambition and lust for flesh was not satiated. He needed more land to rule. More beasts to tame. And his hunger craved for the most intoxicating and addicting meal he ever had: the flesh of royalty. He turned his gaze to the refugies that escaped his wrath, seeing that the Trineians were now a kingdom that had also falled to ghouldoom, yet remained with most of their sanity intact, still behaving on their civilized and regal way. Camazotz desires to conquer their lands, to burn down their crops, to turn them into the beasts that they trully are, and most importantly: to gourge on the flesh of the last prince. Yet his prey is not on his kingdom. Now he sends his spies and vultures to look for the “Virtuoso”. To look for his meal before he starts the invasion of Trineia and after that, of all the neighboring nations.
