Drothgar’s airbourne force

Barlimn Grimnir has just established his new magmahold in the Hungering Steppes and could no longer ignore his debt to Rufhal. In such predicament, he couldn’t let the opportunity brought to him by Okbryn’s traders pass by. A Kharadron paymaster was offering a hefty sum for a mercenary force to bolster his skyport’s defences. Apparently, Barak Drak has sunken aground at the Dragon-spine Mountains and they are in need of help until they can float again. Even with a long standing, open terms contract already signed with the Ghurneth; signing another one like it in the Badlands of Lahar was an inevitable compromise. With some diplomatic effort, Rufhal relieved Thangron Ironhewer to join his father’s lodge and handle things in the Hungering Steppes while he is away. The Skyguard of Drak arranged for transportation from the Wurmcaller Beacon to their city. That meant two things: The fight was urgent (those pay the most); and Barlimn would be fighting without Slarrack. He didn’t even remember the last time he swung his axe without the feeling of hot magmadroth scales under his bare feet, but there was no way the mighty heirs of Vulcatrix from the Drothgar lodge would ride the Kharadron’s flying dinghys.
