Gher’yehn’s Guards

by: Lar'yan the Scrivener
Exasperated, irritated, and often annoyed to the point of anger, these are the Guardians of Gher'yehn, Emissary of Malerion.

Gher’yehn is an anomoly. A melusai, he – for in an event that angers Morathi intensely Gher’yehn is a MALE Melusai, known as a Mal’edarr – is one of the current Emissarries of Malerion. Yes, THAT Malerion. He is a liason between Malerion and the various other Order factions, and under orders to aid the Order coalition in any way he can. His bodyguard consists of assigned Melusai and DoK units, under orders from Morathi not to kill him (even though she really wants him dead – Malerion apparently threatened her with something REALLY bad to make her tolerate Gher’yehn’s presence in the Realms).

Those coming across this warband will usually be spoken to respectfully, under flag of truce. While Gher’yehn is a calm, controlled, almost serene individual most of the time, his subordinates tend to be angry, jumpy, and constantly at each others’ throats. Anyone coming across this group may witness this rather dysfunctional warband going about their business, which usually involves the Emissary doing some inexplicable task that none of his entourage understand. Banter between Emissary and his entourage tends to be bitter, angry, and laden with tension of all sorts, especially between him and those units more closely allied to Morathi. The Serpent Queen has ordered her servants not to harm Gher’yehn, but his very existence infuriates her, and that fury constantly leaks out to those who serve her, leading to some interesting interactions.

While friendly, Gher’yehn’s Guardians do not tolerate threats and will make it clear that they are quite capable of decimating any force sent against them. They are especially tense around any faction allied to Nagash, but seem oddly friendly around even Chaos coalition forces that are willing to talk.

From: Har Kuron, a.k.a. Anvilgard, but they spend a lot of time in Ghur.
