Herwig

Herwig

Herwig is a simple man. He wards the rivers. His parents were riverwardens, and he was born in the very watchtower where he still lives today. His parents were eventually reassigned, and Herwig lived to ward the river. He hasn’t seen high society, or big cities, all he knows is the rivers. Herwig is a riverwarden. He wards the river.

Herwig lives near the Living City. He has a crush on this Slyvaneth that wanders by the rivers, and he has his own prized canoe he built himself. Unfortunately, that one Sylvaneth who he sent a letter to (a merchant who knew how to write was travelling and taking a break, he convinced him to write for him) didn’t accept his fishing invitation. And so, he now waits for a future opportunity to convince his crush to join him.

Most importantly, Herwig has a “don’t mess with the river attitude” where if he catches you littering, poisoning the waters, or smuggling that’s you on the line buddy.
