Thank you for helping create The Weave! Below you’ll find our Location Creator!

These things will not be accepted into The Great Weave:

  • Storylines that directly contradict the overall AoS Narrative (like killing Nagash, or eliminating Chaos from the Realms)
  • Racist or sexist material (with some basic, obvious, exceptions to do with standard speciesism like Duardin not being fans of Aelves)
  • Explicit/capricious/extreme/sexual violence to minors (Allowed: “Enemy ‘A’ killed Hero’s child.” Not Allowed: Explaining in detail how that was done and all the horrible things that were done to that child)

Please be aware, that although you could infringe (in a number of ways) on other creations in the Weave, we ask that you contact the relevant writer/creator on Discord before doing so. It’s the right thing to do. By default, all heroes are safe from killing unless permission is given.

Please take note of the Category field. When selecting a Category, please select all ‘child’ categories as well please.

Additionally, note that the tool isn’t perfect, and will occasionally error out. Please copy your text before submitting to avoid any possible loss. Please.

  • If this is your first time posting, or even if you're still a little new, please read through all the instructions fully. This will help you, I promise

  • Locations within The Great Weave

Below you'l find our Location Creator system. This system differs from others with the inclusion of more robust tabletop rules, if you'd like to include them. The first thing you'll need to do is select the Category by selecting Locations and then the Realm it's found in, and region if applicable.

This is important as it dictates how your post is seen, as well as you'll be able to find it.
  • Initial Information

  • Obviously pseudonyms are okay
  • We run a small "news" podcast that keeps people updated on all things The Great Weave. Occasionally we'll actually highlight what's been going on within a location. But we won't do this without your permission.
  • Tags for Multi-level Creation

Use the below tool to add your own custom tag to the creation. This is only helpful to those that are also using the Multi-level Creator. Always use the exact same tag for those creations you want to have show up together. It is case-sensitive.
  • Location Information

  • This the name of the creation, whether that's a Hero, Character, Crearure, or Location name, or the name of the story you're writing
  • This is a summary of the location. This is best kept around the three-sentence length.
  • The following field is the primary post content. This is where you would put the 'meat' of the location is found. Be aware that you can format headers here, upload images, or even link to other creations both within The Great Weave and elsewhere.
  • This is it, this is where you would put the 'meat' of the creation whether it's a short story, a battle report, or an epic backstory for your Hero.
  • The Featured or Character Image is the MOST important image to include in your submission. For Characters, Heroes, and locations it's shown on the actual post itself, front and centre. For all submissions, it's used on Realm pages and other links throughout the site.

Be sure to note that for story posts, the image you choose here will not be in the post itself, if you'd like that, be sure to include it above in the Story field.
  • The Header Image goes in the header of your creation and makes the post looks super cool. You can use the same image as your location image, but it's usually better to use a different one, just to set it apart. As such, it's not required, but I promise you you'll want to put something here!
  • Rules For Others

  • Rules

The following Rules section is particularly important to all World of the Weave Creations, as it dictates how other players can interact with your creation. Many players leave this as it, as "Do not destroy without permission" as it shows that the discussion is open to influencing and interacting with the creation, it'd just be rude if you destroyed it haphazardly. On the other hand , many times other rules are included. For example, many campaigns will have something akin to "Cannot be killed/destroyed" making it clear the character is important and needed fro the campaign, other creators will allow anything, including the death of the character, to be available to others.
  • Tell us if you don't want your creation killed or destroyed. Writing "None" is also fine
  • Region of War, Twists, and Doom

The following aspect to your location is not required, but filling this out as best as you can will encourage players to play within the location. We have put a lot of effort into making this as streamlined and easy as possible, it's as easy as copy-pasting some text, and it'll add so much to your location!

Including these Rules to your location can help players get a sense of what is going on within the area, and give them brilliant ways to represent playing within your location.

Each aspect is distinct to a game type, but we'd encourage you to select options for all of them, even if you yourself might not play the related game system. Your fellow players will really appreciate this!
  • Soulbound Doom

Doom is used by Soulbound Game Masters to track the growing unease in the Mortal Realms. Doom is often used by GMs specifically for their own Binding or Party, as representing the physical and psychological toll that has been exacted on the party during their adventures.

But many will change Doom depending on where their party goes, and have it reflect the effects of the forces of Chaos, Death, and Destruction on the Mortal Realms. As such, it can change location to location. This is also taken from the perspective of the forces of Order, something to keep in mind if you're creating a bastion of skeletons or a gladiator pit full of Chaos-worshipping cultists.

This is very easy to fill out, on a scale on 1 to 10, how dark, corrupted, uncontrolled, or hopeless is the location?

1-3) At the lower end of the scale players would describe the location in mostly positive terms: people go about their lives, trying to improve their lot without harming their neighbour.
4-5) As Doom grows, the GM or players might describe more instances of bickering in the streets, or violence in darkened alleyways.
6-8) When Doom escalates further, the GM or players can describe people living on a knife edge, blatant theft, and bloody violence in the streets.
9-10) At the top end of the scale you'll find locations dedicated to the Chaos gods, temples of hopelessness dedicated to the Great Necromancer, or regions of primal fury that are impossible to tame.
  • Warcry Twists

Twists within Warcry are the primary tool that is used to add special rules to battles, on top of the Core Rules of the game. They often act as a brilliant way to include locational differences to the games. Everything from weather, to deamons prowling the streets.

You can use the tool below (by clicking the button labelled "Warcry Twists") to find some examples of what to choose. Either copy something from that tool, or create your own, and then paste or write it below in the Warcry Twist Rules section.
  • Region of War

Realm Rules, or Region of War Rules within Age of Sigmar are often used to add special rules to battles, on top of the Core Rules of the game. They act as a brilliant way to include locational differences to the games. Everything from magical effects, to environmental hazards. We've also included simpler "Twists" as they can be used in a similar manner.

You can use the tool below (by clicking the button labelled "Region of War Rules") to find some examples of what to choose. Either copy something from that tool, or create your own, and then paste or write it below in the Region of War Rules section.
