Meveha

Vanari High Sentinel

A Lumineth master horse archer whos quest for revenge and redemption will lead her to places within herself she didn’t know existed and to locations she never thought of.

Meveha is of the Great Nation of Ilithia in Hysh and hailing from Tor Equus in the fertile Wildflower Plains and the Glimmering Steppes of Mount Vesuvia, an active volcano. Though not born into high society of the Lumineth, Meveha was born into an important family of horse breeders that rivalled those of the Xintilian Plains. She, like other Ilithian children, were born with a twin, and as tradition with her family, the horses they bred for them were also born as twins.

As Meveha and her Twin Aerin turned eight, they like all Ilithian children were taken to train in the art of war until they were adults, honing their skills and bonds. All Ilithian children take to the horse by the time they are walking, their mothers riding with them daily while holding them in the saddle. Expected to be masters of the horse by the time they are eight, they then begin training with the fabled sunmetal Lance. Once a set of twins has mastered the sunmetal lance it is then that one chooses the path they will take: The path of the River and Horse, The Path of the Volcano and Pike or that of the Wind and Bow. To the surprise of Meveha and Aerin’s parents the twins did not choose the usual path of one becoming a Warden and one becoming a sentinel, instead, Aerin chose the path of the River and Horse while Meveha officially chose that of the Wind and Bow. However, as she walked by her horse Tilari’s side she whispered, “My soul and heart embrace both the river and wind, I will be the first Vanari High Sentinel, for I dream to ride with you and shoot my bow, not be stationary like a mountain, but free like the rivers and wind.” It is also during this time that Meveha realized her magic potential.

Years later Both twins had achieved much, Aerin was appointed Steedmaster of a unit of Dawnriders while Meveha was given the title High Sentinel of Auralan Sentinels. Both twins knew however that Meveha excelled above Aerin in riding and fighting from horseback, especially when it came to a bow. Soon both of their units were taken on a campaign outside of Hysh into Ghyran, tragedy struck. Their warhost had learned of a Nurgle plot on a large continent to the north of Invidia, they knew not exactly what the Father of Plagues had in mind, it was known however it involved the mountain ranges to the south of a River Valley.

Finding their quarry, the warhost charged in, taking the Chaos force by surprise, it was a slaughter. Mortals and demons alike fell to the charging blades, hammers, magic and whistling arrows of the Lumineth, the mountains around them seemed to sing out in happiness. Then, to the northern ridge a large call was heard, one that neither twin had herd before: A Carnosaur. With the primordial call a new onslaught began, from the skies Terradons dropped payloads of rocks and exploding devices while skinks threw javelins down; both the Lumineth and Nurgle forces had no were to run. As the scaled Legions burst forth the Lumineth fought their way out of the carnage but not before a vast number of their kin had died. Of those dead Aerin died in Meveha’s arms as she was impaled by a javelin and her horse consumed by nurglings. The loss of a twin was the same as losing one’s soul to the Ilithians. As the Nurgle forces were killed the Seraphon turned their gaze upon the nearly Broken Lumineth, however fate intervened. The mountains rumbled and as if on command a huge avalanche of boulders, trees and soon sappy magma spewed forth and swept away the first wave of the charging scaled legions. With a river of sappy magma between them and the Lumineth the Seraphon turned and returned over the mountain from which they came. Silently Meveha thanked the spirits of the mountains and cursed the Seraphon as much as she Cursed Nurgle, vowing to return and slaughter both.

Now 10 years later Meveha has climbed the ranks of her warhost and has convinced her superiors to allow another campaign back to those mountains, convincing them it is in the best interest of Ilithia and Tor Equus. With their own Legions ready, Meveha looks towards war and revenge.

At the age of 225 she has become the first Vanari High Sentinel as she has shown the importance of horse riders using bows and commands her own sizeable force. However, preferring to go alone with Tilari on assassination and scouting missions she never left without her two Scryhawks, always one step ahead of those that hunt her and those she hunts.
