Quest Submissions

Thank you for thinking about creating a Quest or Rumour for others! You’re awesome!

These things will not be accepted into The Great Weave:

  • Storylines that directly contradict the overall AoS Narrative (like killing Nagash, or eliminating Chaos from the Realms)
  • Racist or sexist material (with some basic, obvious, exceptions to do with standard speciesism like Duardin not being fans of Aelves)
  • Explicit/capricious/extreme/sexual violence to minors (Allowed: “Enemy ‘A’ killed Hero’s child.” Not Allowed: Explaining in detail how that was done and all the horrible things that were done to that child)

Please be aware, that although you could infringe (in a number of ways) on other Heroes in the Weave, we ask that you contact the relevant writer/creator on Discord before doing so. It’s the right thing to do. By default, all heroes are safe from killing unless permission is given

Please note that the tool isn’t perfect, and will occasionally error out.

Please copy your text before submitting to avoid any possible loss. Please.

    Quests and Rumours

Quests are adventures that other players, usually through their Heroes, can undertake. These Quests are great ways to get other players to interact with your creations; they form a wonderful way to play within the Mortal Realms. These Quests also run directly alongside your narratively focused Age of Sigmar, Warcry, and Soulbound campaigns. Path to Glory and Warcry call these "Quests" as well, and Soulbound has a similar mechanic in the form of "Rumours", "Threats", and "Fears".

Remember, everything in the Weave "actually happens" so most of the time Quests are one-offs. For example; if a monster is terrorising a city, and you create a Quest calling for someone to deal with it, a player on the other side of the world can play a Soulbound, or Warcry, or AoS game to resolve the Quest in some way. Some resolutions will naturally close the Quest (the monster is slain), while others will keep it open (the army/binding was destroyed/beaten, and the monster is still out there).

If a Quest that you've made has been resolved, and the intention is that people would no longer submit anything more to it, you can change the Catagory to "Resolved Quests"

Please be sure to give as much information as possible in Quests, as they really help players "pick-up and go" with them, so if you've got battleplans, or maps, or statlines, be sure to include them. Quests that are a little more light on information will probably be read more as a "rumour" and as such may have a resolution that you might not have intended.

  • We run a small "news" podcast that keeps people updated on all things The Great Weave. Occasionally we'll actually highlight Quests and give up-to-date information on what's been going on. But we won't do this without your permission.
  • Tags for Multi-level Creation

Use the below tool to add your own custom tag to the creation. This is only helpful to those that are also using the Multi-level Creator. Always use the exact same tag for those creations you want to have show up together. It is case-sensitive.

  • Quest or Rumour Excerpt

Provide a short, one to two sentence overview of the quest. If it's more a rumour or just a very short idea, usually the entire thing goes here, and you can skip the "Quest Information" section

  • Quest Story and Details

This is the big one. This is where you want to put as many details as you can about the Quest. Go nuts, players will always appreciate it when they have things to base their games off of! Include anything that could help a player, gamemaster, or organizer, play through the quest. Remember, the Quest could be played as a Soulbound, Age of Sigmar, or Warcry game, but even if you only have a battleplan map for just the one, stick it up regardless!

  • Write the full description of your Post
  • Quest Mechanics

Within the Path to Glory and Warcry Quests that we receive from GW are specific instructions for how to accomplish that specific Quest. It is recommended a similar thing is provided here, for those that are playing PtG or Warcry, and would like a more tangible way to play towards the Quest. Usually these GW Quests have some sort of result (you receive an artefact or you find a new encampment), you'll find space for that lower down in this form.

  • GM Notes

You're creating this Quest or Rumour to give other people the option of playing through the scenario. But, they don't know all that you know. Because of this, you're going to want to give them a couple of hints as to what you have in mind...

This could be anything, it could be Realm Rules you'd expect to be in play, any custom rules that you think would be cool to use, maybe what characters are involved, or even what game format you had in mind when writing it.

At the very least, it is recommended you indicate what forces could be used in the scenario, like; "Skaven should be one of the forces in this scenario" or where the main events are taking place "in the sewers of Har Kuron"

We call these "Game Master Notes" because in a way you act as a sort of Game Master, but remember, other players can choose to ignore some or even all of your suggestions. This is a good thing, don't worry, it'll be okay.

  • Rewards, Artefacts, and Treasure

You're creating this Quest or Rumour to give other people the option of playing through the scenario, so give them a reason (besides it just being super awesome) to do so! If they complete the mission, what do they get? Remember, people play different systems, so if you're able to create stats for something, see if you can do so for the Path to Glory, Soulbound, and Warcry. If it's not possible to create stats (or you're just unsure of what to do), then just describe the rewards as best as you can.
