Despite the vicious fighting, often carried out in the sucking shallows or upon soft and unstable battlefields, the Preservers knew they must put everything on the line to ensure the sanctity of the lakes. Should they fall into the wrong hands, these sources of power could extend mortal lives and enable incredible feats of jade magic. They diverted every ounce of manpower into driving back the Obliterators, flooding their camps and drowning their armies wherever possible.
Though the Obliterators smashed through the banks of some of those hallowed pools and corrupted others with rotting Preserver dead, the lakes’ protectors would not be routed. Rogues were tempted with the promise of distilled lake water and ancient treasures. As Hysh’s light broke through the clouds once more, the lakes gleamed brilliantly as if made from polished glass, dotted only by the retreating reflections of those who had failed to destroy them.
With a Preserver win, those within this coalition are entitled to roll on the Winners’ Armoury Table. Those Rogues that committed their results to the Preservers are entitled to roll on the Rogues’ Armoury Table. These are available for Age of Sigmar or Warcry. These can be found on Page 18 of White Dwarf 495 and in the Rewards section of the Cross the Water Quest.
As armies move past the Slidecrown Lakes, the pulse of deep-rooted magic beats like a verdant heart. Scouts on both sides report shattered ruins of stone, carved with ferocious stags, centaurian warriors and treelike Sylvaneth heroes. Though it is sealed within a final protective shell, all know one thing to be true: the final resting place of the Viridian King lies ahead and with it, the Viridian Crown.
Whatever their motivation, the Preservers wish to guard this sacred site, for it provides energy and life to the entire island and those that live there. The Obliterators would see such a powerful artefact destroyed, whether they seek to bring ruin and corruption to the lands or prevent the crown from ever being wielded by their enemies. Though it is apparent to all that the Rogues may have ulterior motives, many still risk buying their help, for an enemy of their enemy is their friend.
- It is of the utmost importance for Preservers to protect the crown.
- It is of the utmost importance for Obliterators to destroy the crown.
- Though the Rogues are still content to support whom they wish, if more Rogues submit results than the other two factions, the crown will be considered stolen. Choose your friends just as carefully as your enemies!
