The Honorbound
When the spirefall gripped the realm of Hysh, and aelf warred against aelf over petty grievances, there came to be men and women of every nation who, disgusted by their high and mighty leaders, left their homes to wander the war torn landscape of the realm. Over time, their numbers and resources grew until they outnumbered many armies they had fled. And so, these refugees armed themselves, and set out to pacify as much of the realm as they could. This continued until the invasion of Hysh by chaos. As one of the most powerful armies in the realm, the Honorbound, or Senthoi-Ylvan as they began to be called, defended their territory with great skill and tenacity. When the wars of reinvention began, the Honorbound became a kind of military junta, holding dominion over their lands and sallying out to aid the forces of Teclis and Tyrion in driving out chaos, and pacifying the remaining aelven warmongers. They still rule over their old strongholds, with each fortress reporting to the Shadelord in Tor Hithuan, the great bastion on the shaded coast of the Iliathan geosegment.
Authority and Justice
The honorbound dislike indirect methods of confrontation. When they see evil or injustice, no matter the form, the strike at it, hard and fast. They are just as willing to spark a revolution in a human city against corrupt nobles as they are to assassinate the leader of an Orruk waaagh. They are often considered overly blunt by their fellow lumineth, but the opinions of elitist nobles matter little to the Honorbound.
Hunters of Corruption
The honorbound have made it their mission to rid the realms of evil, but not in the same manner as their fellow Lumineth. Rather than battle chaos in open warfare, the honorbound prefer to hunt down and eradicate the root causes and problems that drive people to chaos. They depose unjust lords, take pounds of flesh from corrupt clergy, and hold the forces of order accountable, for they believe that chaos alone does not justify any and all actions taken by their erstwhile allies. They must be better in all ways than chaos, not just in what gods they serve.
The Lights in the Shadow
Amongst their Lumineth brethren, the Honorbound are seen as dangerous radicals, who may potentially disrupt their efforts across the realms. In response, the Honorbound spit on their brethren’s accusations, and wage their war ever more viciously. They take solace in the artifacts wielded by their commanders, objects of the world that was. The shadow crown, the moon-bow, and the stone of midnight empower their wielders, fueling them with the secret ancient malice and vengeance of the Shadow King, a figure of legend from the ancient world.
Reclaimed Finery
The Honorbound are not from the cream of aelven society. Few if any nobles are amongst their number, and so the honorbound are always in pursuit of the resources needed to wage their eternal war against evil. When their enemies are in possession of greater resources and wealth, it is only right that the honorbound turn that wealth towards the destruction of further oppressors. They have taken lordly purple as their color not out of rank, but so that they might rob their enemies of such fine facades to hide behind.
Honor and Duty
Where most Lumineth are obsessed with harmony, the Honorbound are obsessed with moral responsibility. They see it as their duty to take the actions no one else will to defeat the forces of chaos and destruction.
