TREASURES OF THE HUNGRY ISLANDS

Even among the starving lands of the Ghur’s predator-continents, the Ravenids are known for their hunger. Hunger for blood, hunger for bodies, hunger for treasure. Even now, their hills are resplendent with legendary artefacts, awaiting those strong enough to take them

Warcry Instructions

Pick 1 artefact of power from the Treasures of the Hungry Islands table (see below) and note it in your quest log. You cannot pick an artefact of power already borne by a fighter in your warband.

While embarked upon this quest, you must keep track of the progress your warband makes, represented by a progress score. In step 4 of each campaign battle’s aftermath sequence, add 2 to your progress score if you won the battle, and add an additional 2 if you were the attacker (whether you won or not). In addition, you can pick 1 fighter from your warband and send them forth to search for the artefact. To do so, roll a dice and add the roll to your progress score. In addition, on a 1, the fighter being rolled for is attacked by something within the Ravenids. Make an injury roll for that fighter.

You can complete this quest once your progress score is 15 or more. When you complete this quest, you obtain the artefact of power that was noted in your quest log

Treasures of the Hungry Islands

The Coat of Captain Davos: This glorious overcoat once sat on the shoulders of a mighty Avengorii ship captain. It is said when he fell to the beast, he dove into the ocean and only his coat returned. Now a mighty kraken haunts the seas in which he took his final plunge…

Enemy fighters within 1” of the bearer cannot make disengage actions.

The Black Spot: A terrifying writ of annihilation shown only by Avengorii raiders to enemies whose death is a high priority. As such, these hideous symbols are only flown before truly worthy enemies.

Add 1 to the Attacks characreristic of this fighter’s melee attack actions when targeting a fighter with a Wounds characteristic of 15 or more.

The Cutlass of Supreme Admiral Da’oul: Once a Vengorian privateer famed for his peerless mastery of the saber, this blade’s edge torments its victims as it marks their flesh, giving them visions of the death they will face…if they survive this fight.

Add 1 to the Strength characteristic of melee attack actions made by the bearer, and add 1 to the damage points allocated by each hit and critical hit from melee attack actions made by the bearer.

Stefan Forrester’s Cursed Fiddle: Once the instrument of an ambitious folk musician, the custom fiddle of the band-leader Stefan Forrester is synonymous with its grim legend. Songs played on it drive the player’s allies to synchronous movement, and curses their enemies to frustration and mania.

Once per battle, the bearer can use this artefact as a bonus action. If they do so, until the end of the battle round, subtract 1 (to a minimum of 1) from the Attacks characteristic of melee attack actions made by enemy fighters within 6” of the bearer, and add 1 to the Strength characteristic of melee attack actions made by friendly fighters.

Dead Man’s Hand: A grisly hand of glory clutching a hand of cards from Gallet’s most famous gambling game. The cards gathered are the worst hand one could ask for, and have been held by countless outlaws moments before their sudden deaths. Holding one is the sign of a true thrillseeker.

Once per battle, during their activation, this fighter can use a [double] or [triple] ability without needing or using any ability dice. The value of that ability is 3.

Fangbeard’s Hat: A horn and fang-covered pirate’s hat that weighs heavy on most mortals’ heads. It belonged to a famous Vengorian captain whose fangs grew in multitudes from his neck, and whose constant suffering drove him to kill.

Subtract 1 from the damage points allocated by each hit and critical hit (to a minimum of 1) from melee attack actions that target the bearer

Rewards

Sometimes a Quest creator will tell you what you get for completing the Quest, depending of the outcome of course. If there is nothing, you can obviously create your own rewards, ahhh… imagine the possibilities…
