A Fortress of Deceit

Civilia’s Ruin is now in the hands of Sorrah and her allies. Those that sought to defend the city have either been killed by those they thought to be friends, or are missing. To make matters more complicated, the Seraphon from the Xarlanth approach with their broken ship clearly in mind.

Game Master Notes

These notes exist to help you run through the Quest. They are put here by the creator and should give you some direction as to what they had in mind when they created the Quest

This Quest is part of the Revenge of Rondhol event, and has evolved since its creation as more players have commented. Be sure to check out the Civilia’s Ruin location for suggestions for bespoke rules for playing here! This isn’t a complex Quest, you’ll be fighting for control over Civilia’s Ruin, or sections of it. Be sure to make it clear who you’re fighting for, who you faced off against in your game(s), and what the result of the game(s) were.

- The Weaver -

It has become painfully clear that Sorrah Nikos never had any intention of working for the good of her “people”. After backstabbing her “allies” she has since rounded up the survivors she previously claimed to be protecting, and have thrown them into pens not even fit for animals. Additionally, she has somehow created a force-field of sorts around the ruins by using the section of the Xarlanth that fell into the city. The field isn’t completely effective, groups of individuals are able to make their way through it, but it does repel artillery, both traditional and arcane, and seems to dampen magic throughout the area. It isn’t clear what Nikkos is even doing to the survivors of Civilia, but she’s certainly doing something as their number decreases by the day.

The old masters of the Xarlanth, though, clearly have their eyes set on the section of the ship found in the ruins. They have set up camp outside the area, and are now attempting to infiltrate Civilia and take back what is theirs.

Rewards

Sometimes a Quest creator will tell you what you get for completing the Quest, depending of the outcome of course. If there is nothing, you can obviously create your own rewards, ahhh… imagine the possibilities…

You’re fighting over control of the ruins, and so depending on your faction, your reward will be different. Khardhir (including the Vermillios family) is ultimately on their way to Furyoth Dell, but revenge is almost always looked favorably upon in Rondhol and Nikkos will need to pay for her crimes. Both Khardhir and Da Choppas could conceivably work alongside the Seraphon as well in retrieving the Xarlanthian section. Those that owe allegiance to Chaos, including those under Blackmaw will need to hold onto what they’ve fought hard to achieve.

Have you played through this Quest or Rumour?

If you’ve played through or resolved this in any way, be sure to tell us right here on the Quest page, we’d love to know what happened!

Razgor sends his ‘eadhuntaz, his personal group of assassins to sow more chaos and disorder in the city, hoping to worsen the already bad relations. Da ‘eadhuntaz track down and kill a small detachment of freeguilders and their leader, who they manage to kill. Da ‘eadhuntaz do end up losing to the remaining freeguilders and are forced to retreat from the occupied city.
Dedicated to Da choppas.

(Played a warcry game with a freeguild player, was just a demo, so it was a simple kill as many of possible game. Ended up losing once he got the hang of the game.)

Civilia might have been forsaken by Khardihr, but the Wardens of Burden refuse to let the forces of Chaos enjoy their triumph. They ride for Civilia with no support save a few Seraphon allies. Khadihr has proven itself compromised, and Tcimmera’s trust is a rare gift after Sorrah Nikos’ treachery.
The Wardens of Burden fight alone.
But they are Sigmar’s chosen and the star-children of Dracothion. They need no allies.
They expect no quarter.
They will give none.
Civilia will be delivered, or Civilia will burn.
