Deep in the inner reaches of the Mountains of Maraz smoke bubbles subtly throughout the cold, with two towering peaks of ever pouring magma. One of the many hammer falls of the great battle of Sigmar and Gorkamorka now pours magma from the dormant volcano that slumbers underneath as it bleeds out onto the surface, stories say that the magma itself is the continents blood. With the recent resurgence of Ghur’s awakening and the continents moving constantly it is hard to say if it is true or false legends of the vacant magic in the air but people have dubbed the region Anvilrgore Peaks for how myths and general pub talk say that the mountains once where anvil shaped before Sigmar’s hammer landed, hence the naming.
The environment while not as dangerous as the cold snap of the normal mountains because of the magma running in the ground keeping the place a average temperature, the mountain and it’s surroundings are known to harbor gargant families and stomps patrolling the borders. They hide from sight mostly until the food runs scarce before going out on a murder spree of the local wildlife and settlements.
Although this is the case recent reports say that Mega-Gargants haven’t been sighted for awhile for unknown reasons, most suspect a power imbalance inside the mountain walls for the gargant clans have made a standstill occur to the inhabitants of the great square peaks.
“Stompin’ through da rock and hot! Makin’ noise as bubbles pop! Rolling down da two magma leaks, we stomp and romp through da big zit peaks!” – Known catchphrase of the local gargants that live in these lands, singing about them living in the Anvilrgore Peaks which they usually describe as Rondhol’s big zit to many peoples dismay.
