Acting as the spiritual leader of The Cult of The Fell Dragon within the forgotten Shyishian underworld of Drakengrad, the person known only as Propheter Anankos is shrouded in mysteries as great as the power they wield.
Little is known of the Propheter’s origins, save for that they emerged from one of the many tribes of Hidden People native to Drakengrad. As the aftershocks of the Necroquake ravaged those mortals who’d already survived the turmoil of The Age of Chaos, the Propheter revealed themselves during a council of tribal leaders within the Mausoleum of the Gods to announce their fallen deities’ will—to revive The Fell Dragon and rebirth their lands in the godbeast’s ruinous cleansing. This act sired a union of members of each tribe which would soon be known as The Cult of The Fell Dragon.
The Propheter takes the name from Drakengrad’s long-dead dragon god of silence, secrets, and song, and through what appears to be esoteric channeling of this deity’s power, they reveal the path forward for The Cult of The Fell Dragon and the tribes they hold control over. Among dissenters, this power is discredited as the illusions of an apocalyptic narcissist, but through the Propheter’s influence, such criticisms are quickly silenced. Nevertheless, the Propheter’s influence within Drakengrad is undeniable. With but a whisper, the fate they’ve decreed in store for the underworld is set into motion by their many dedicated devotees.
As The Cult has grown in power, so too has the scale of Propheter Anankos’s ambitions. Where once, their cult was to remain out of sight, quietly claiming sites of Sentinel Bones around the region for their cause, The Propheter has since decreed their organization revealed to the citizens of Drakheim, and their inevitable doom beneath the wings of The Fell Dragon announced. So great is their knowledge, so powerful the dragon gods’ will that this fate cannot be denied and it is the role of Propheter Anankos to see this destruction done.
