The realms are full of those unworthy souls raised out of the filth by the hand of a god, those corrupt enough to accept power in return for the sale of their very soul. The Rancarous Gitz are neither, every fibre of their being longs to be recognised for their cunning and cruelty, their souls offered up to any Dark God who would offer even the slimmest sliver of power or acclaim and yet all that echoes back from the emptiness is disgust and loathing.
Their souls are long since corrupt and rotten to blackened pits, there is nothing for any god to claim of value there, and though keen of blade and eager to spill blood they are but Hobgrots in Realms filled with Demigods. They are the nothing people, the shuffling horde and the bit players to greater heroes stories, and every passing day turns this festering existance into a colder loathing and bitter bite.
Raknoks Rancarous Gitz follow the fabled Tolltaker for his acclaim, false as it may be, that a God has paid heed to his hedonistic appetites and cruel deeds. They seek to emulate him, each more cruel and cunning than the next Hobgrot that a god might gift them attention, a day that will never truly come. Instead they barter service for coin and corrupt artefacts, seeking to grow their prestigious wealth and horde that they could be a power in their own right.
The Sellswords long for power, but know only others as masters. They seek to control but rely so heavily on contracts such a day may never come.
