As the Flamespyre Phoenix is born anew in the fires of the Ur-Phoenix, as the Stormcast is reforged in Sigmar’s lightning, so too may the Mortal Realms be born anew.
Prophecy is lifeblood in the Mortal Realms. A thousand thousand schemes whirl within each other, clicking onwards like great wheels towards their disparate aims, malignant and benign. It is prophecy that fuels these schemes, and it is prophecy that provides the tools to prevent them. The schemes of Sigmar’s foes unfold far beyond the sight of mortal men, and Sigmar’s own eyes can only see so far. Thus do the Scions of the Ur-Phoenix serve their God-King, uncovering and uprooting the plans of those who stand against him.
Ur-Phoenix is a creature of infinite rebirth, of endless cycles of renewal. It is this cyclical being that links the Ur-Phoenix to the very concept of prophecy itself. As the Godbeast exists eternal, its being touches on all futures, all presents, and all pasts. To those whom it favours, it may grant glimpses of what is yet to come, and what has been. Thus do the Scions of the Ur-Phoenix revere the Godbeast, for it grants them the sight to serve their God-King.
The Scions of the Ur-Phoenix are drawn from those souls who had been touched by the Ur-Phoenix in their previous life. The touch of a godbeast is a powerful bond, one that can survive even reforging itself. Warriors of the Scions are powerful warrior mystics, their minds devoted to sifting and prying through the glimpses of past and future granted to them, searching always for clues to upset the schemes of their foes. The Scions are ever in motion, for the foes of Sigmar never rest.
The deep rooted mysticism of the Scions means the Stormhost consists predominantly of Sacrosanct chambers, and its leadership is dominated by Lords Arcanum, mages and warlocks without equal, and Lord Ordinators, possessed as they are with foresight and understanding beyond even their peers.
