Within Vulkaris, somewhere between the Vexshik Spire and the Realmgate to Chamon, a grand Citadel of dark blue Crystal pulsating with arcane might has arisen from the metallic ground.
This Holy place of Chaos is known as the Citadel of Metamorphosis and is the base of operations of the Templars of Our Burning Saviour in Vulkaris.
The massive Monoliths have been conjured to form unnatural structures – vast fortifications and jagged spires of pure crystal, their surfaces engraved with scripture and sigils in an ancient and most Holy language.
The Citadel itself is an unnatural place of Divine Power of Our Burning Saviour, with those not faithful experiencing nausea, headaches, bleeding from the eyes and ears and organ failure up to transformation into Chaos Spawn when venturing too close to the Citadel.
Deep red banners bearing the golden wings of Our Burning Saviour hang amongst these obelisks, from spires and gatehouses, and Tzaangor Templars in heavy golden plate armour guard the Citadel walls, while others on discs guard the skies.
Tzaangors are naturally attracted to the powerful crystals, their sorcerous nature echoing even beyond Vulkaris, to the point that whole tribes regularly arrive through the Realmgate from Chamon to travel towards the Citadel and to reinforce the Templar forces.
From the Citadel’s many spires, sorcerous bolts of Changing energy can be directed against any attacker, which results in dire mutations, Chaos Spawn or further Tzaangors.
The everchanging cave system around and below the Citadel (although the Monoliths go deeper than any cave system might) is another natural defence, but can also be flooded with wyrdflame if the need arises.
Although many lores of magic are practiced here, the Lore of Fate is likely the most common Lore of Magic within the Citadel, with the Lore of Fire and the Lore of Metal also fairly widespread. In general, any form of magic is welcome. Conversely, Nullstone is antithetical to the nature of the Citadel of Metamorphosis, and thus, mostly destroyed immediately if encountered.
While the Templars have good relations with Clan Skryre, they consider Clan Pestilens as their enemies because of their Nurglite-adjacent nature.
The Citadel of Metamorphosis grows, and twists and warps its surroundings to the Glory of Tzeentch.
