The alliance with Khardihr had been promising. A chance to do some true good. To make the kind of difference that Argannon had always told the nobility of Nautilar they could make. It was not to be. While the Fangs of the Deep were busy fighting chaos reavers and orruk raiders the floating city was brought down from within.
Beset by enemies on all sides, Argannon risked much to liberate as many people as he could from the doomed city, most prominently among those Amphillis, Tidecaster and his envoy to Khardihr. And while they saved many souls during that desperate evacuation, Amphillis’ was not among them. However, as they retreated into the deep Argannon that Amphillis and her small cadre of guards were among those who fled through a recently discovered realmgate to Ghyran. With their enemies ascendant the Fangs of the Deep decided to leave the waters of Ghur to seek out their lost comrades in the Realm of Life.
Cut off from the new realmgate and with the only known whirlway leading directly to Ghyran unavailable to him, Argannon had to find a different way. Eventually the Fangs of the Deep had to make the perilous trek across Olyx’cotal, the Realm Serpent to reach the Realm of Life. Of course, their quest was not finished by simply reaching Ghyran. For many weeks they searched for any sign of the refugees from Khardihr but they had no idea where in the Realm of Life the gate could have opened. It was only when they made contact with their fellow deepkin from the Briomdar enclave that they heard even just a rumor that might hint to the location of their comrades. With no better leads to follow the Fangs of the Deep set out for the Slidecrown Isle.
