The last scuffle between the Hydra and Gorka Morka ended with the last spiked head of the Hydra landing in the lake below. For centuries the large spikes provided shelter to the population, and from there a system of canals connected the various spikes. The lake provided a natural defense against other Ghurish invaders, the water being wielded offensively by Vulkan Watersingers. The Watersingers are a group of Druids who commanded the lake’s water and beasts against a variety of threats, they became a major institution for the City after Slavery was abolished.
As the Slave Masters took over the City and yielded it to the Desraki, the Watersingers were persecuted. Their Temples were taken over by the Rageborn and converted to the Worship to Khorne. The large Spikes that housed thousands were converted to austere yet massive temples, in which there are regular violent tournaments. Marketplaces were turned to fighting pits, vital healing centers turned to statues of powerful Desraki Warriors & Clerics. This desolation drove the remaining population to either slavery or servitude within the military.
