Windwhales

windwhale-22a37682

Large, floating mammalian creatures that strongly resemble their ocean dwelling namesakes, swim through the skies around the peaks of the Dell, in search of ground prey. Gulls and other scavengers light and perch atop their backs, flute barnacles occasionally whistling along their bellies. Their body flattens towards their wide, soft lipped mouths and long tangles of beard-like strands hang dozens of yards below them, to snare and bring captured meals up to its flat toothed mouth.
