The magic employed by orruk shamans is little understood by outsiders. All manner of fanciful tales have spread concerning how this primal energy manifests, and in Rondhol an oft-repeated claim is that greenskin shaman-prophets have learned to commune with the continent’s furious waters.
Certainly, this is the reason given for the terrible floods that destroyed Civilia. Formerly the northernmost strongpoint established by settlers from Everquake City, Civilia was a burgeoning port and fishing settlement – until a sudden tidal surge sweeping in from the coast reduced it to a waterlogged ruin. The walls and guardian idols now lie toppled and half-submerged, blanketed in thick mists. Several clans of Bonesplitterz have begun to squat in the ruins, using the debris to construct rafts on which they go out to hunt the monsters of the Bitingsea. These have since joined the Waaagh! created by Da Choppas and enjoy a significant amount of control over the destroyed city.
But the Dawnbringer Crusades are driven by optimism. Despite the uneasy reputation it holds in the minds of the common folk, plans are already in motion to resettle Civilia’s Ruin .
Little is known about the sudden collapse of the once-flourishing outpost of Civilia, now a waterlogged ruin shrouded by a dense fog.
“Truly, it was the darkest night we’d ever faced. As soon as we heard the water rushing towards us, myself and my research assistants grabbed everything we could that wasn’t nailed down and ran to the top of the Collegiate tower. When the wave hit, everything toppled over—including the tower. By some miracle, we all survived, the tower coming to rest against the mountains. To be here with our lives and most of our research is a blessing I thank Sigmar for every day.” – Sorrah Nikos, Professor of Arcane Studies
