Plans of a River Rat is set in the Northern Lustrare River.

The Valley resides in Ghyran to the far north of the Heaving Mountains of Invidia and northwest of the Sickling Sea on the northern continent of Maz’Talik. Protected by a mighty ring of Highlands and Mountains, the valley is a natural haven for life and is broken into three different vast regions: Northern, Southern and Western. Although all of Ghyran is abundant in life, the Lustrare River Valley has a unique ecosystem due to the Lustrum Node and its powerful life magic seeping out, many species here cannot be found anywhere else in the Mortal Realms.

The valley is home to the Lustrated Temple Host though both Sylvaneth and tribal human settlements also flourish here. Already a wild ecosystem its jungles, marshes, grasslands and even its large desert have grown wilder still with the help of Realm Engines being powered directly by the Lustrum Node. Even with the mighty natural defences and devastating armies of its inhabitants, it does not deter outside forces from wanting access to the valley. Skaven carve out fortresses in the mountains to the northern edge and raid Green Ridge Pass disrupting trade and communications.

“It has been reported by both the humans of Oscoda on the Huron Creek, skinks of Xlakana and the Slyvaneth of Arbor Vale that those who have gone out to collect berries and other food along Huron Creek and The Great Green Swamp sometimes do not come back. Wild animals were to blame at first, but no bodies have been found, only drag marks. Skaven are thought to be the cause after further investigation, but Skaven have never been known to make it this far into the valley. The Sign of a Crow has been found at least one site of a possible struggle, though strange claw marks have also been found.”

Expected Questions

Does it matter which army I play as?

Not really no. The Valley is well developed at this point though, and you’re welcome to fight for or as an existing faction or society.

What really matters is:

  • Where are you fighting on the map
  • Who you’re fighting as?
  • Did you have a win, loss, or draw?
Can I play as an existing Hero?

Yes! Of course!

How are results calculated?

We will be tracking wins/losses/draws in the background, but we are much, much, more interested in telling an awesome story than running a competitive campaign. It is best to think of the battles as fighting for your goals, rather than against other players.

Who can play?

If you’re reading this, you can almost certainly play!

Does it matter which army I play against?

Not at all. In fact, unless both players are playing as factions within the Valley, and as part of the campaign, the enemy you face doesn’t “count” towards what’s happening.

All that matters really is:

  • Where are you fighting on the map
  • Who you’re fighting as?
  • Did you have a win, loss, or draw?
How do I 'submit' results?

We’re having the results be submitted primarily on Discord. That being said, if you’re keen to get involved, but are not on discord, you can use the Other Requests form on our “Submissions” page to submit any battle reports. Be sure to tell us:

  • Where are you fighting on the map
  • Who you’re fighting as?
  • Did you have a win, loss, or draw?
Is this the only Weave Event?

Nope! There are more on the way!

What Game Systems are Accepted?

Right now, we’re expecting games to be played in the Warcry or Age of Sigmar Tabletop systems. If you’d like to get involved in Soulbound, reach out to us!

Who will you side for? Will you keep the Valley safe? Or will you watch it burn?
