The seat of the Thondian branch of the Academy of the Arcane Arts of Aith’erant, located in Old Kleah, the capital of the crusader state of the Templars of Our Burning Saviour.
Here, students of many peoples – many of them former Desraki slaves – are instructed in the Arcane Arts under the watchful eye of the Tzaangor priesthood of Our Burning Saviour from the nearby Temple.
Despite the religious dogma, the Magisters, Adepts and Acolytes of the Academy are free to advance their field of study in most any way they see fit, for thirst of knowledge pleases Our Burning Saviour. Dark and Dangerous experiments are regularly carried out down below in the academy’s dungeons, under the direction of the academy’s Magisters.
Graduates of the academy are zealous believers, and regularly form units of sorcerers which accompany Templar armies into battle or assist the Priesthood in their arcane endeavours, the most notable cooperation with the Tzaangor priesthood of the Citadel of Coalescence and the Citadel of Distortion.
With their golden masks and red robes they are easily recognisable and are greatly admired and respected by the common population, showing how far one can rise with ambition and dedication – giving them something to aspire to.
