The city of Khardhir has two primary goals at this time, the first is to raise the city back into the lofty heights it used to claim as its home. The second is to defeat this new Fae threat, and in-so-doing create a more stable continent from which to grow civilisation anew. Thankfully, these are not mutually exclusive goals. Thanks to the machinations of the Xarlantian Seraphon, a truce of sorts has now been established with Sorrah Nikos. The cost was great, Nikos returned the void-shield that she had in her possession and in return Khardhir and the Xarlanthian survivors have pulled completely out of Civilia’s Ruin. The city of Civilia has been lost, again, but it is the hope of the Council of Khardhir that what they’ve received in return will help Khardhir return to the skies.
To this end, Khardhir is calling on adventurers, warbands, mercenaries, and treasure seekers to once again scout out Rondhol for the location of the final Xarlantian ruin that’s needed – the great engine that powered the voidship. The Council have it on good authority that this particular piece of the ship can be found at the heart of Furyoth Dell – with the Fae invaders. For those that wish to serve Khardhir (or at least get paid by them) the defeat of the Fae within the Dell, along with the securing of the Xarlanthian technology, is key. Get in, find the Fae hideout, destroy these horrors, and find that the engine.

I painted these three dryads to get a feel for which paint scheme I’d like to use, so they don’t exactly match one another, particularly the one on the left. Let’s just say she’s a bit paler than her sisters.
Story
The Brashbriar Brood have been swayed to the side of the fae. Unlike others fighting for the Wrathful Land, they care not whether their new allies wish to enslave Rondhol’s wild beasts. They are Sylvaneth; what should the fate of fauna matter to them?
Though originally tasked with aiding in the excavation of amberblood alongside the slag-haulers, Khardhir’s recent expeditions have necessitated a change of plans. Though the Briarbrood Branchwych remains always on the lookout for new seams of amberblood—to hasten the progress of Rondhol’s unleashing—she and her sisters have lately spent most of their time in the company of Knights of the Chalice, fighting to keep the forces of Order at bay.
It turns out that although the feral forest folk lack the weapons and armour of their civilised foes, enemy forces have a tendency to become much less able to fend off their savage assaults after a knight upon a massive carnosaur or troglodon has charged their front lines to soften them up.
If they can keep Khardhir landlocked long enough for the continent’s re-awakening to commence in earnest, and ensure the diggers have the time they need to finish their good work, then they will have won.
Rondhol itself will tear apart the fallen City of Sigmar, along with the remains of the temple-ship Xarlanth, and the bastion of Chaos that Civilia’s Ruin has become.
Destruction will reign.

Painted primarily with The Army Painter Speedpaints. While they may not look as pretty up close (and with the camera flash turned on) compared to models painted the proper way, these (or GW’s own Contrast Paints) are so much quicker and easier to apply that I just love the experience of using them. Other than on the bases, the only non-Speedpaint I used was a coat of Spiritstone Red on their hands, which hopefully looks something like fresh blood.
Story
The lack of resistance from Khardhir is… unexpected, to put it mildly. To the sylvaneth matriarch, it seems that the custodians of civilisation are content to take cover behind their newly acquired Void Shield — as if any evidence were needed to show that Order is just as vile as Chaos, this sharing of resources between the two alliances is surely proof enough of that — leaving the rest of Rondhol to its own devices, as if hoping to simply wait out the threat they face.
She will not let down her guard, though. Perhaps, they seek to lull her and her allies into a false sense of security, in the hopes that when they depart, the civilised ones shall get their opportunity to strike out at the diggers. Unlike her feral sisters, however, the Briarbrood Branchwych has had her mind opened by the manifold magics bound within her greenwood scythe. She will not fall victim to such a simple ploy.
So she remains here, slowly encircling the fallen city, content in the knowledge that whilst elsewhere, the operations of the slag-haulers may be under greater pressure, beneath her watchful gaze, progress in this region goes unabated. In fact, as the Knights of the Chalice and the Brashbriar Brood have closed in around Khardhir, a great deal more land has been freed up for excavation.
And thus, the amberblood mines expand ever further, and the end draws nigh.
Solo Warcry battle. Ironjawz with Boltboy boss ally versus Knights represented by Blades of Khorne.
Victory to the Ironjawz
Prebattle:
Snagruk had thought it was odd that Urgoth wanted him to scout around humie territories to attack the Fae rather than the humies, but his new boss was an odd’un. He seemed to have had his fill of the Waaghh, and wanted to vent his rage on the Fae, who his shaman told ‘im would be active around Khardir. Snagruk had shrugged at the time. His Kruleboyz clan had fallen apart when the river flooded with monsters, and Urgoth had treated him and the others he found in the aftermath right.
The shaman’s instructions had been vague, and he had elected to stay with his boss rather than join Snagruk and the assorted Orruks sent with him, so it took some time to find anything. After a couple weeks of tracking trails that suspiciously seemed to vanish, he’d found something. Now he sighted down his boltbow at a small force downhill from his hiding spot. Some of dose Knights uv da Chalice, and a few pet spiky boyz they must have been controlling, escorting a couple amberblood haulers. Snagruk smiled as he aimed at one of the less well armored spiky boyz. “Time for a bit of fun”.
Aftermath:
Snagruk poked around at one of the downed knights looking for loot as he directed the ardboyz to grab the amberblood. He’d have to message the shaman Dethmuttera about what to do with the stuff. Just dump it back onto the ground? Maybe it had to go back where it was pulled from. He was pretty sure he could track where the haulers had come from if it came to it. For now they’d safeguard what they found and look for more targets.
