Acting as the Prime-Navigator for the Dread Myriad, Lord Haddrik Carminnio believes himself to be uniquely possessed of the skill to perform the task of guiding the Myriad’s fleet back to its ancestral waters in Rondhol to finally claim the trade routes of The Svlind for their lineage.
The Dread Myriad and their captains, The Carminnios, are believed to be related in some way to The House of Vermillio, as much like them, The Carminnios possess traits of combined lineages of Nulahmia and the Vyrkos Dynasty. However, at some point, they clearly diverged. Some believe it was because of a succession crisis and internal war that the defeated Carminnios set upon the seas to create a new legacy for themselves. Others believe the two groups are still in close coordination and the Dread Myriad merely acts as an envoy of the Vermillios, scouting and claiming more territory for the family to source goods from. Neither theory appears certain, as the Carminnios have sailed far and wide beyond Rondhol for decades, only returning now thanks to the divining of its current Navigator.
Haddrik Carminnio was rumored to have been plucked from the arms of his dying mother, killed and drained by the fleet’s prior Navigator. Baptized in the blood of that battle, Haddrik was blessed with knowledge of the foes his new family among the Dread Myriad would face. Under the tutelage of the prior Navigator, Haddrik’s sight grew in scope and he was soon able to see new lands in need of their deathly conquest. Following the destruction of his tutor and his proper ascension to Prime-Navigator, the quiet Haddrik became even more isolated. Though exceptionally cunning, Haddrik prefers to communicate through letters and lieutenants. Even on the battlefield, he is purported to be a silent and lethal reaper.
Lord Carminnio had led the Dread Myriad to ruinous conquest in numerous territories on the shores of Ghur without great difficulty, but now, in being drawn to Rondhol, Haddrik has found a foe somehow hidden from his sight —Khrovar Blackmaw, that asshole.
